Chark Country Holidays

Set in scenic countryside in Mid-Cornwall, Chark Farm is very easy to access, being only one hour from Exeter.

Once you arrive the bustle of life seems far away; there is no road noise here. Just lots of birdsong and the occasional lowing of cows who graze in the fields surrounding the cottages.
The converted granite barns have been sympathetically restored to a high standard providing a real home from home, in whichever season you visit.

Features include exposed original beams, solid oak and pine flooring, and oak fronted kitchens. Three of the cottages are reverse-level to take advantage of the lovely views.
All cottages have central heating, and there are electric wood burner style stoves to enhance the country feel. The kitchens feature all the usual conveniences including microwave and conventional ovens, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and washing machine.

The bedrooms feature custom built fitted furniture and high-quality beds and bedding. The tiled bathrooms have bath and shower. Fenten Chy boasts a corner spa bath.

Our single storey cottage, Mesyow Chy, is laid out for wheelchair users, rated M3, and is very popular with both disabled and able-bodied guests.

Outside there are spacious patios and law areas, perfect for summer barbecues. The children's play area includes a 14ft trampoline with safety net, a slide and sandpit. Table football appears in the courtyard on fine days, there is also outdoor chess, and we have a badminton/volleyball net.

The pets paddock is very popular. It is home to hens, goats, ponies and often a cow and calves. During the school holidays there are calves or lambs to feed. The ducks on the pond are always keen to eat your leftover bread crusts.

All areas of Cornwall and its attractions are in easy reach from here. The nearest South Coast beach is 15 minutes away. Eden project is 20 minutes, and NT Lanhydrock House is a 5 minute drive, or an hour's leisurely stroll through picturesque woodland. Rugged and beautiful Bodmin Moor is only a short drive away.

There are many local walks and cycle rides in the area.
We are fortunate to have a wide choice of places to eat and takeaways within two miles of the farm, and there are two excellent golf courses as well.

All our guests love the welcome relaxed atmosphere here, and many choose to return again and again.
