Road Directions

East Rose is located on Bodmin Moor, above the ancient Delphy Bridge between the villages of Blisland and St Breward. Below are some directions to us. These are updated directions that take into account the current road works on the A30 (ongoing from Spring 2015 - Summer 2017).

June 2017 update: **Due to the road works, the Temple turn on the A30 which leads to St Breward is currently still shut** The on going road works on the A30 are getting closer to completion - it is hoped that all will be done at some point in July 2017.  Until it is complete, we would recommend to anyone arriving to East Rose that you avoid the A30 completly and arrive to us via Camelford on the North Cornwall route.  Saturdays will be very busy on the A30, and we cannot guarantee what side exits between Temple and Bodmin will be open.

From Exeter / M5 / A30

From the M5 at Exeter, take the A30 for approximately 50 miles.  Shortly after you have passed Launceston, you need to exit the A30 at Kennard's House (this is the exit towards A395/North Cornwall/Wadebridge/Camelford/A39).  Take this slip road and the bridge over the A30 and follow the A395 at the roundabout towards Camelford for approximately 10 miles.  Turn left onto the A39 and follow this road for approximately 3 miles.  Drive through the main street of Camelford, and up the hill.  Once you have gone through Camelford (less than 1/2 mile), you will find a petrol station and convenience store.  Take the left hand turn after the petrol station onto the B3266 and follow this road for approximately 3 miles.  There will be a sign post for The Old Inn and Restaurant to your left - take this (also sign posted to Fentonadle).  Pass the farm, then take the next left, go over the bridge and up a long steep hill.  Go around a very sharp right hand bend - this road will lead you straight into the village of St Breward.  As you enter the village, you will pass the church and pub on your left hand side.  You are approximately 1.5 miles from East Rose.  When you come to the village green (triangle of grass!!!), turn left.  At the end of the village green go straight across.  Follow this road for just over a mile, passing Hallagenna Riding Stables.  Go over the cattle grid and onto the moors.  There will be a sharp right hand bend and East Rose will be the next property on your left.  If you get to Delphy Bridge, you have just gone past us and will need to turn around!

From Plymouth / A38

From Plymouth, head towards Bodmin, travelling on the A38 for approximately 32 miles.  You will pass the town of Liskeard.  Once at Bodmin, you will need to follow signs for Dunmere / Washaway / Wadebridge/ A389. As you are leaving Bodmin on the A389, The Borough Arms will be on your left as you approach the bottom of the hill.  (There is a large car park here that you can use if you wish to access the Camel Trail from this point). Go over the bridge at the bottom of the hill (River Camel).  Continue along this road and up the hill.  At Washaway, you need to take the right hand turn onto the B3266.  Continue along the B3266 until you see a right hand exit sign posted for "St Breward 1.5 miles, Coombe Mill 1 mile" - take this turn.  Take the left turn almost immediately after, to St Breward.  Follow this road down the hill, go over the bridge at the bottom, and up the hill at the other side. Nearing the top of the hill, go around a very sharp right hand bend - this road will lead you straight into the village of St Breward.

We are approximately the following miles from local towns / cities in Cornwall and the South West: 7 miles to Bodmin 10 miles to Wadebridge 19 miles to Launceston 32 miles to Truro 38 miles to Plymouth 55 miles to Penzance 60 miles to Exeter 140 miles to Bristol

Public Transport Directions
