Type: Bed & Breakfast

Trenarlett Farm is beautifully set overlooking the Camel Valley and surrounding countryside. Easy to reach and near to all sorts of places to visit and things to do, yet peaceful and quiet with that away from it all feel. We have 2 spacious double suites, one with kingsize bed and one with a super king size bed (room can be a twin or triple if required). Both are complete with spacious modern en-suites with large baths (room for 2 and a bottle of fizz!) and separate large walk in showers. Enjoy a delicious home-cooked breakfast to set you up for the day ahead, or just ask for what you fancy and we will hope to oblige! Flexible timing for breakfasts and arrivals. A friendly welcome awaits you and you will have easy access to all that award winning Cornwall has to offer. Though we are 'out of the way' there are three villages within a few minutes drive, all with nice pubs that serve food. We are happy to help with any queries, local information or requests, or just leave you in peace to enjoy your surroundings. We are dog lovers and do welcome them at Trenarlett, subject to a few common sense requests - areas available for those first and last thing constitutionals! We also have The Snug, our new flexible studio suite, completed this Spring. It is mobility friendly and has it's own kitchen/dining room off the en-suite (walk in shower) superking/twin bedroom, which has a comfy sofa and a small enclosed garden space. In addition, we have five one and two bedroom self-catering cottages so please see our website. Feel free to call with any queries you may have.

Road Directions

SatNav actually works really well as we are only address on the postcode so it takes you right up the drive. For those (like me) who still rely on native wit and the odd look at a map, here are some directions that should help you; From A30 Exeter, follow down until you reach Launceston, then you have two choices; If you struggle with country lanes and/or want to pick up a few bits or a takeaway when you're nearly there but without detouring, then look for the A395 a few miles after Launceston signed for Davidstow and Camelford. Take this exit, follow through to A39, turn left for Camelford and drive straight through the town (unless stopping for provisions/takeaway/pint!) then you will see a garage on your left, having left the town, and you turn left immediately after - this is the B3266 and will be signed Bodmin and Washaway. Follow for about 4 or 5 miles until you reach crossroads on brow of a hill with St Tudy to the right and St Breward and Blisland to the left - turn left. After a short distance you reach a small staggered crossroads with an old granite signpost - go straight on for Blisland. As you start to go down hill look out for a driveway on the left and that is us, signed Trenarlett Farm. If you reach the bridge at the bottom of the hill you've missed us!

Alternative route, marginally shorter and the way SatNav would take you usually; stay on A30 for several miles longer and take the right turn for Blisland a few miles before Bodmin. Follow this lane until you meet another lane at a staggered crossroads and go straight on. Keep on this lane for about 2 miles - it winds around a bit but just stick to the main drag ignoring any junctions and you come to a bridge with rails each side, just after a small carpark for the Camel Trail - cross the bridge and as you come up the hill after about 300 yards we are on the right.

Either way, follow up our drive and park initially at the front of the house. The guest entrance is down the left side of the farmhouse, follow the slate path to the stable door.

Public Transport Directions

Regular mainline trains run to Bodmin Parkway then either get a taxi direct to Trenarlett or, depending on timing, bus to Bodmin town centre from where there is a village service that gets you close by to either walk (about a mile) or we are more than happy to pick you up by prior arrangement. If you are bringing bicycles then it is a relatively easy cycle from Bodmin to Trenarlett on the Camel Trail. Flights operate to Newquay where you would either pick up hire car, taxi direct to Trenarlett or maybe bus to Bodmin and on as above.
