To the north east of Bodmin lies the wild and unspoilt landscape of Bodmin Moor.  Peace and quiet, panoramic views and wildlife are abundant there.  Clamber up the granite rocks to the top of Rough Tor, the second highest point in Cornwall and look out to the north coast or venture to moorland near St Breward where you are likely to spot Bodmin Moor ponies grazing.

On the south east side of the moor, visit Minions where archaeological treasures like the Cheesewring are scattered as well as the ruins of copper mines.

Indulge yourself in the legends and myths of Bodmin Moor.  See Dozmary pool where it is believed Excalibur rose from the water; or watch out for the footprints of the mysterious creature that is the Beast of Bodmin Moor.
