Bodmin Riding & Heritage Weekend

Saturday 3rd July & Sunday 4th see Bodmin go back to its past and the old county town dresses up and lets its hair down and celebrates its long history.

Heritage Day - Saturday 3rd July

9am - 5pm Street Stalls, Fore Street & Priory Park

9am - 4pm Hornby Railway Model Exhibition, Public Rooms

9am - 4.30pm Craft Fayre with traditional and modern crafts for sale, Shire House Suite

9.30am - 4pm Bodmin Lions Victorian Market, Honey Street

9.30am - 4pm WI Refreshments, BCA Rooms

10am The Ragadaziow meet, followed by Muster of the Helliers, Mount Folly Square

10am All Day Fair opens, Priory Park

10.30am The Beast is sighted and the Helliers hunt the beast, Mount Folly Square

10.30am Heavy Horse, dressing up, Priory Park

11am Renaissance Historical Dance Group, Mount Folly Square

11.30am Regency Costume and dance, Mount Folly

11am Miniature Steam Engine Exhibition, Priory Park

11.45am - 12.15pm Caracana with Cornish dancers, Mount Folly Square

12pm Town Crier's Competition - 1st Cry, Library

1pm Children's Procession and dance, from Bodmin Library through Fore Street

1.30pm  Children's Tea Treat, Priory Park Bandstand

1.40pm Prize Giving Ceremonies, Priory Park Bandstand

1.45pm - 2.15pm Renaissance Historicqal Dance Group, regency costume dance, Mount Folly Square

2pm Horns of the Beast perform, Bodmin Jail

2.20pm - 2.50pm Caracana with Cornish dancers, Mount Folly Square

3pm Town Criers Competition, 2nd Cry, Mount Folly Square

3.15pm The Beast is processed to Mount Folly for trial, Bodmin Jail

3.45pm Town Criers Competition, proze giving, Mount Folly Square

4pm - 4.45pm Trial of the Beast, Mount Folly Square

Riding Day - Sunday 4th July

9.45am Procession with casket assembles at St Marys Roman Catholic Church and then processes to Mount Folly Square

10.15am Assembly at Mount Folly

10.25am Mayor and Consort present the Chairman and his Lady with the Riding Garland and the Beribboned Stave

10.30 Procession to St Petrocs Church for the Riding Service

10.40am Blessing of St Petrocs Bones on the site of the Old Priory

11am Riding Day service and Riding Day Blessing, St Thomas's Chapel

12pm Distribution of the Riding Ale, Rectory Garden

2pm Cornish Wrestling Association, Bodmin tournament, Bodmin Beacon
