Type: Museum

We are an all weather, family attraction, with a Civil and Naval Prison housing a museum within its walls split over three levels. It was the last County Jail in Cornwall, eventually closing in 1927. The Jail now sits at the start of the famous Camel Trail and is the perfect alternative day out.

As well as the Jail Museum attraction, we also have superb restaurant and bar facilities, accompanied by our very comfortable Witness Box wine bar, where morning or afternoon tea and coffee can be served.

Join other weary travelers in the Warders Room where we serve a great range of home cooked food freshly prepared from local produce by our dedicated brigade of chefs.

Visit our gift shop selling local Cornish produce, beers and gifts for both children and adults like.

Go straight ahead at the mini round about and proceed to a second mini-roundabout by the large parish church, St Petrocs. Take the second exit here and follow this road - Dennison Road - for approximately a quarter of a mile. Turn right, opposite Topps Tiles into Berrycombe Road. Follow this road, passing the rear of Sainsburys supermarket on your left and the fire station on your left. The entrance to Bodmin Jail is about 100 yards along on the right hand side.
