Bodmin Beacon

The granite monument that sits high above Bodmin town can be seen from miles around but the beacon monument is not the only thing worth visiting in this area.

The whole hill surrounding the Gilbert monument is a nature reserve with lots of wildlife spotting opportunities as well as affording wonderful views towards Bodmin Moor and the surrounding countryside.

The site is just a short walk from the town centre or there is a small free car park.  The reserve is crossed with walking paths and is perfect for a leisurely stroll.

There is a good free map available of the Beacon area that you  can view by clicking the link or you can request a copy from the Visitor Information Centre.
