Ben Salfield in Concert

Ben Salfield in Concert

Type: Performance

Described in international media as “one of the most exciting lutenists of his generation”, he regularly performs and gives masterclasses at venues and festivals across the Continent.

“I will play music by three composers”, explained Ben. “First, by the Spaniard Luis de Milán, published in 1536; then some music from the early 1600s by the greatest English composer of his day, John Dowland. The second half will feature sonatas and stand-alone pieces by the amazing baroque composer Silvius Leopold Weiss, that were written in the first half of the 18th century. I can’t wait to appear solo in Cornwall again, and I think the Regimental Museum Keep makes a wonderful little venue. Hopefully all the locals will come and give their support, and will be interested to see me playing on the unique 10-course lutar, which is the only one in the world!”
