Type: Participatory Event

Number 1 Depot Company will set up their Victorian-era military camp here at Bodmin Keep, where they will eat, sleep and carry out the day to day activities of Garrison Artillery regiment during the Victorian age.

Visitors are welcome to explore their camp, see their rifle and bayonet displays and find out what life was like in the British Army during the golden age of the British Empire.

The group will be on hand all weekend to talk with visitors and answer their questions about their military life, kit, uniform and weaponry.

Visitors can also explore our Victorian Keep, home to Cornwall’s historic regiment the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry and the hub of Cornwall’s military life for over 150 years. Our collections range from 1703 and the Cornish Militia and Volunteers to the early 2000’s with the national collection of the Light Infantry.

There will be no extra charge for this event, our usual entry rates will apply – visit our visitor information page or get in touch for more information. We are dog friendly however please note that there may be loud noises!
