Nanstallon Cornish Artists at the Shire Hall Gallery

Nanstallon Cornish Artists at the Shire Hall Gallery

Type: Exhibition

We are an informal group of about a dozen who meet on a Tuesday afternoon in

Nanstallon Chapel. We’re tutored by local professional artist, jam and pickle maker,

Wendy Parkyn, who has a studio / gallery between Wadebridge and Rock.

Wendy encourages us to try a wide range of media and styles, giving regular

demonstrations and individual encouragement and feedback. There are no

sanctions if we choose not to follow whatever medium or style is current, but it’s

probably of benefit to our artistic development if we do.

There is universal agreement that tea and cake helps our creative faculty. Some of

us are members of Camel Art whilst others have found individual outlets for their

work. However there’s no expectation that either exhibiting or sales are the

benchmark for what we do. Rather that we simply enjoy and explore our creative

instincts in a supportive and friendly environment.
