The Keep will be open every day between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm, with family activities throughout the week, including:

The Chance to Play the Bugle and drum!

As well as visiting the museum – which tells the story of the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, the Cornish Militia and Volunteers, and The Light Infantry – visitors can also explore ‘The Keep’, our Victorian Barracks and former home of the DCLI, including our cold war era military police cell.

Young visitors (and older ones too!) can use our art cart and special craft supplies to create their own fun military medals, and can show off their creations by sharing photos to our social media pages for a chance to be featured!

Dogs are welcome, and we have limited free parking at the rear of the museum.

Road Directions

The museum is easily accessible from the A30. It is located on the B3268 Lostwithiel Road.

SatNav users may wish to use the postcode PL31 1DU, which will take you to Bodmin Bowls Club, opposite to the museum’s parking area.

Parking There is limited free parking at the rear of the museum (SatNav PL31 1DU) and additional free on-street parking nearby, plus Victoria Square pay and display car park 100 metres level walk to the rear of the museum along Castle Canyke Road.

Public Transport Directions

From Liskeard, Wadebridge or Padstow take the Plymouth Citybus 11a to Bodmin Town Centre stopping at Bodmin General Station.

From Truro/ St Austell take the First bus no.27 to Bodmin Town Centre stopping at Bodmin General Station.
